1719: Good save by Paetz

The intensity has gone up a few notches. Canada have put that fourth-end behind them and are looking to pile the pressure on Tirinzoni and co. Paetz has to make a pinpoint, perfect draw to only give up one. But they still trail 5-3 and need something this end.

1702: relief for jones

This is not a good situation for Jones. I repeat, this is not a good situation for Jones. Switzerland are sitting five in the house and the Canadians look worried - they need a little Jennifer magic. A hit manages to take two Swiss rocks out of play but a measure is required.

By a whisker, Jones get it and escape with one. It could have been an almost game-ending scenario if she made an error.

1646: Paetz hits back

From fabulous to faltering. An error from Jones - a missed double take-out - has gifted Switzerland a chance to draw for three. Alina Paetz makes no mistake this time and suddenly, the scores are level. The previous incline has suddenly flattened out for Tirinzoni and co.

Here’s that fabulous shot by Jones
1633: Bad start for Switzerland

Ah, when it rains it pours. Jennifer Jones makes a tremendous in-off to put Alina Paet under signifcant pressure. The Swiss fourth attempts a run-back but is unable to interrupt the house and is in trouble.

Jones is sitting two with three guards in place. Can Paetz conjure up a response? Nope. She repeats her shot from before but is unsuccessful. Another steal of two and there's a hill to climb.

1624: Jones steals first up

Not a bad way to start! Canada steal after some excellent pressure from Jennifer Jones. Alina Paetz will need to dust herself off after missing her final shot but there's plenty left to play for.
