Lazy Handle Show success in Omaha

It was a special experience for the Lazy Handle Show host.

Katrina Frlan, host of the Lazy Handle Show, described her Curling World Cup experience as “incredible” after having the opportunity to film a special two-part edition of her YouTube show at the Ralston Arena.

The World Curling Federation invited Katrina along to leg two of the Curling World Cup in Omaha and the budding curling broadcaster made quite the impression, interviewing Olympic gold medal-winning skips John Shuster and Anna Hasselborg.

“A huge thank you to the WCF for inviting me to Omaha!” Katrina said. “I had a fantastic time and it was a really great experience.

“Getting a behind-the-scenes tour of all the people who make the television production and run the event was very cool. I also got some great interviews for my show which I really appreciate. Everybody was so nice and the curling was great!”

The 11-year-old from Ottawa, Canada, may have only begun her online show in August 2018 but has already interviewed some of the top curlers on tour including John Epping, Bruce Mouat and Isabella Wranaa.

While in Nebraska, Katrina received a jersey from United States skip Jamie Sinclair, carried out the Canadian flag for Team Tracy Fleury and even rode a sledge down one of the sheets on finals day.

Who knows, maybe one day we’ll be seeing Katrina Frlan skipping Team Canada at a future Curling World Cup. Until then, we can tune in to watch the Lazy Handle Show!
