Team Yannick Schwaller join the mixed doubles pair in Sweden.

Jenny Perret and Martin Rios will get a third chance to grab a place in the Curling World Cup Grand Final after qualifying to represent Switzerland in the mixed doubles in leg three.

The Swiss Curling Federation decided that the men’s and mixed doubles winners of last weekend’s Swiss Cup in Biel would automatically be selected for Jonkoping from 30 January – 3 February.

Perret and Rios cruised to victory, winning all six of the group matches before dispatching Daniella Rupp and Kevin Wonderlin 10-8 in the final.

It means that the Olympic silver medallists will now get a third chance to take their place in May’s Grand Final in Beijing. They came very close to doing so in Omaha, losing an early four-point lead to slip to defeat against Norway in the final. In Suzhou, they missed out on the final after losing their last group game to United States.

Team Yannick Schwaller will be Switzerland’s representatives in the men’s event in Jonkoping after they won the Swiss Cup on Sunday.

The Swiss Cup came down to a final between Team Schwaller and Team Peter De Cruz, with the former winning a tense encounter.

As well as their 21-year-old skip, Team Schwaller includes third Michael Brunner, second Romano Meier and first Marcel Kaeufeler.

They will hope to improve on their performance in leg two in Omaha where they finished bottom of Group B with two victories in their six group games.
