World Cup gets lift-off as President Caithness gives federation backing
New series will improve the influence of Curling globally says Kate
Kate Caithness, WCF President, gave the Curling World Cup the federation’s backing as the new competition was launched in China.
Speaking at the January launch, Caithness said: "The Curling World Cup shoulders an important mission as we move towards the Olympic Winter Games Beijing 2022.
“With the competition to be broadcast worldwide the Curling World Cup will improve the influence of curling globally."
A four-year deal has been signed between the WCF, the Chinese Curling Association and Kingdomway Sports to launch the World Cup.
